GEDcom Hosting Services
We launched this service to assist family researchers with the publishing of their family trees onto the Internet. Placing your tree onto the Internet allows other researchers (some of whom could be your cousins) to determine if you have any ancestors in common.
Safety. We take extra precautions to protect your information. We never publish information about living relatives, especially those who are under 18 years old. We limit the amount of information published to Names, Locations and Birth/Death years.
Reliability. We place your tree on one of our own servers, reducing the possibility of loss due to ISP demise. Our servers have an excellent track record of uptime.
Visibility. In conjunction with our other GEDCOM related services, we make finding your tree on the Internet easy. Your tree is indexed into our Genealogy Meta-Search.
It’s Free. That’s right! We don’t charge for hosting your family tree. Plus, we also don’t place advertisements on any of the pages derived from your GEDCOM.
First, make sure the software program you are using to build your family tree is capable of exporting into a .GED format. Many programs give filtering options, so take the time to learn about them so that you only publish the information you are comfortable with.
Second, fill out our online application to tell us about yourself and your research project. When you complete this step you will be given instructions for mailing in your .GED file.
